All 4 of us this week and we thought before the leaves go altogether we would visit the top end of Chatsworth Park and the Swiss Lake to get some autumn colours. With the clocks changing we set off at 06:30 and parked up at Beeley Moor corner just after sunrise. We were the only car there and set off down the track, the sun was showing now and then casting a lovely glow on the bracken. The views are quite extensive from the track and we spotted Minninglow way off in the distance. We passed some very friendly cows and then over a style into the woods. The track took us past the Swiss Lake and it has been drained, hardly any water in it at all. I was hoping to get a nice shot of Swiss Cottage with the trees and reflections but that shot has gone. We carried on until we got to the Emperor Lake and found a seat for our breakfast. After breakfast we walked to the very top of the Souter Stone that feeds the Cascade and after taking some pics we got back onto the track and headed back to the car. The car parking area was now full with about 12 cars parked either side of the road.

This was just over 5 miles and a really pleasant walk with gentle inclines and generally good surfaces. The leaves on the ground are looking at there best when the sun shines on them and a sure sign winter is just around the corner.
