At last a bit of the white stuff came down and covered the ground up to about 4" deep.
Well it looked a bit dodgy to go out in the car, but i decided to have a try. The first job was to shift all the snow from the drive, that took about 20 minutes and then after three attempts i got onto the road. I was the first one out of my road so it was virgin snow, no problems until i struggled getting up Bridge Hill. Eventually got to Robs about 8:00 and parked on Geoff's drive. We had planed just to have a walk around Handley Wood in the event of overnight snow. Just three of us went myself, Rob and Ike with Rachel's dog Buckle.
While i was waiting i got a couple of snaps of these Goldfinches on the bird feeder.
We set off up Plains Lane and it was just so peaceful and quiet.

Lots of lovely white stuff |
We headed across the fields towards Handley Woods and Buckle was loving it.

Buckle leading the way |
We passed this tree in a field and it just looked great with the sun behind it.

If you go down in the woods today......... |
|
Your sure of a big surprise!! |

Brook in Handley Woods |
It was a climb out of the woods up towards the Midshires Way, passing this pond.
|
You can just see animal tracks going across the ice on the pond. |

This was the last shot from our walk. |
It was a nice walk back down the track to Plains Lane and then a struggle to get back up Belper Lane in the car. Made it but it was a struggle, i was lucky nothing came down Belper Lane so i could keep the car moving.
Morgan was staying overnight so when i got home i took him sledging to Shire Oaks which is just 10 minutes walk away.
Took my camera as normal and got a couple of decent action pics of some of the Belper Rugby Club U15's.

Bit of a headache after that. |
That's it for this week
Cheers
