Long Dale & Upper Tissington Trail.

This is the last section of the Tissington Trail for us to complete, we combined this with a walk through Long Dale.
We parked up at the Hartington railway signal box and then straight onto the trail.
Hartington Signal Box

We  think this flat topped area is a spoil heap from the railway cuttings

One of the many cuttings on the Tissington Trail

High Peak Trail on the left and Tissington Trail on the right.

Down off the trail and off towards Custard Field Farm

The footpath lead us across the fields to a farm track

Geoff leap frogging a style

Couldn't resist this shot.

This track went down to Long Dale

Big steps- little door.

One side of Long Dale has the typical steps caused by erosion.

Rocky outcrops

Brekki on the bench.

Pond at Heathcote crossroads.

The date on this is 1831

Remarkable brickwork under this bridge.

The sign shows the gradient for the old railway track
This was just over 6 miles and a very pleasant walk although we had plain bland skies and it did get a bit wet  trekking over the fields. Longdale was a surprise because unlike any of the other dales we've been along this one has a road running through it.
This report is a week late due to me going away to Whitby for a few days, but I'll catch up in the next day or so.
Cheers
