Alderwasley Park and Alport Stone

Back to full strength this week with a full compliment  up and at em at 07:30.  I got a couple of sunrise shots before we got to our destination close by at the village of Alderwasley. We parked in the village hall car park and walked down towards the village where we were stopped in our tracks when  Ike spotted a couple of Peacocks sitting in a tall tree. I've never seen Peacocks in a tree before, i got one shot off of the female just as the male flew away. We got back on track and just followed the footpath through the park until we got to Shining Cliff Woods.

The Guide Stoop at Alport Stone. This stoop has the date 1710 carved onto it along with Ashbourne, Derby and Wirksworth although not spelled like that.

 Just a short walk of 3 miles but in a beautiful location, the section through the woods was very enlightening. We came across a number of old quarries and the views from the top although through the trees were brilliant. When the leaves get on the tree's in the summer a lot of the scenery will be blocked.
