Curbar and Baslow Edges

Only 3 of us this week and my turn to drive, off up the A6 to Curbar Edge. We always park just below the official car park in a small parking area off the road. Ike was off up Yorkshire for the weekend so we 3 legged it uphill and onto the track along the top of Curbar edge. It was dull and cloudy but very clear you could see for miles. As we walked along the edge the weather changed and the visibility was reduced and a bit of moisture in the air. Unfortunately we only had lightweight clothing on and decided to head back towards the car. As we got closer the weather changed again this time for the better so we crossed the road and went onto Baslow Edge. There are 2 tracks along Baslow Edge, the track we took was a few hundred yards off the edge and after passing a highland cow and calf then the Eagle stone we ended up at a lovely seat for our breakfast. The return to the car was via the track which runs along the edge and this has some spectacular views. The off road car park spots were full when we got back to the car and a very enjoyable little walk it was.

Another lovely Sunday morning with mixed weather at the start and ending with some sunshine. We started off looking for the heather but its not in full bloom yet, so that's next week
