Lathkill Dale Cave & Weir

With all the bad weather on a Sunday and other commitments this is the first Sunday for weeks that we have been able to get out. Even so there was still only 3 of us, it was my turn to drive so we thought we would go to Lathkill Dale to see if the water was coming from the Lathkill Dale Cave. We set off at 07:00 still quite dark and parked up next to Haddon Grove Farm, walked through the campsite and down the steep incline to the river below next to the footbridge that leads to Cales Dale. We turned right and walked along the footpath until we got to the Lathkill Dale Cave. We spotted a couple of Dippers in there. After a few pics we headed back to the footbridge and had our breakfast there sitting watching the river flow by. After a while we set off downstream and came to a lot calmer section of the river. Some of the footpaths were flooded, we soon got to the Tuft Weir and it was in full flow looking really good. A few photos there and off towards Carters Mill where i met a couple of photographers I just know there Instagram names Jayholmer71 and Walzingalong so hi guys hope you got some good shots. From there its a long steep slog back up to the car going through the wooded area, some lovely scenery.

Lovely little walk just over 3 1/2 mies, hopefully Ike will be with us next week and we'll be up to full strength.
