Pea Low is one of the largest round barrows in the Peak District at 3.5m high by 45x38m. Two dry stone walls cross it. Excellent views in all directions including Gratton Hill, Narrowdale Hill and Wetton Hill all of which have barrows at their summits.
Although we got a bit muddy, wet and blasted with the wind and rain this was still an interesting walk, one to repeat in better weather.
See you next week.
There's a new bus service starting in March going to this part of the Peak District and i'm looking forward to visiting many of the places you feature in the blog - Alstonefield looks particularly attractive.
