Froghall and The Devils Staircase

Geoff was back from holiday and elected to go to Froghall in Staffordshire. It was less than an hours run to park up in the Froghall visitor centre.
The route took us along the Caldon Canal to Consall Forge then up the Devils Staircase on a footpath past Bellmont Hall then Booths Hall and back to the canal. We rejoined the towpath on the canal and back to Froghall. We met some interesting people on the route, firstly a really nice farmer who told us all about the way they are being screwed by suppliers and customers alike, why health and safety is really putting their costs up and there's nothing they can do about it.
The second guy was on a barge and he had lived on the water since 1982. If there's a canal in this country he's been on it.
I'm doing this late at night so have to cut the verbals short this week. Just enjoy the pics.

This was a great walk along the canal, up the Devils Staircase and through a couple of really old working farms.
See you next week.
