High Peak Trail & Cromford Canal

All 4 of us again today and we met up at 06:00 as usual but because of the threat of torrential rain we thought we would stay local. We parked up at Intake Lane in Cromford and walked up to meet the High Peak Trail. We walked onto the Sheep Pasture Incline, past the old Derrick in the quarry and past the run off pit then down to the High Peak Junction. We walked along the canal and stopped at the pack horse bridge where we found a lovely seat for our breakfast. Just before we got to the bridge our Rob spotted a bouquet of flowers in the canal and he fished them out. As it was Ike's wedding anniversary he offered them to Ike to give to Angela, the reply is not printable. Anyway after our breakfast we headed off towards the Cromford Mill complex and we spotted a water vole but to quick for me to photo him. We had a wander around the mill yard and it started to rain, that's when we thought that's enough for the day and it was off to the car and back home.

Just a short but pleasant walk with just the last part with rain. Ive never seen the waggon catch pit before so that was a first.
See you next week.
