Longshaw Estate

Just the 3 of us this week and we decided to go and see some snow and went up to the Longshaw Estate. We set off at 07:00 with the temperature at -6 degrees with crystal clear skies. I had already been down to the Gangway over the road down at Belper Mill and got a shot of the 2 planets Venus and Jupiter. When we arrived at the usual parking spot between Longshaw and Padley Gorge there was already one car parked there and no ice cream van, that came later.
We walked past the old barn which is now an information centre and onto the pond which was frozen over, the ducks only had a very small area of water. We went past the visitor centre and on the trail behind the buildings that took us up to the Longshaw Pole. From there we went across the snow covered fields to the old Stone Stoop then back onto the trail and back to the information barn for our breakfast. Then back to the car.

Even at minus temperatures the ice cream van is still there.
This was a cracking walk in the snow, bitter cold but well worth it.
See you next week
