Great Longstone

Sorry I've been missing for a couple of weeks, circumstances out of my control.
7 yes 7 of us this week in 2 cars, Geoff's and Ike's. Myself  Rob & Ike in one and Geoff, Brian, Sally & Sam in the other.
We set off at 06:00 and ended up parked just on the upper reaches of Great Longstone. We headed down the single track road to the footpath on the corner that took us up through the woods then a little excursion to a dew pond on top of the hill. The dew pond was dry and after taking in the views it was back down the track and then onto a different lane that took us past Dale farm then to Great Longstone where we stopped on the village green for breakfast. We then went through the village past St. Giles Church and headed up the footpath through a lovely little dale and then a nasty ascent through fields and thick vegetation until we got back onto Moor Road where we parked.

A cracking morning walk just under 4 miles with some steep ascents at the end (550 feet).
We saw lots of bugs, highland cows, pigs and even a hare.
See you next week
