We parked on the road just beside Harthill Moor Farm. Just across the field we could see the stone circle which is close to Robin Hood's Stride so we headed off in that direction to get a quick pic but the farmer thereabouts has put the block on anyone going off the footpath and he has even placed a farm trailer beside the stones to distract you from getting any decent pics. HOW SPITEFUL IS THAT.
We went back to the road and carried on with our walk, we first went past Castle Ring hillfort behind Harthill Moor Farm and just followed the track. We eventually ended up at the Mawstone mine. After having a good look around there we continued our journey through Mawstone Farm. The scenery from there on was just spectacular. All around these footpaths the farmer had painted on stones "No Way" obviously doesn't like people.

Mawstone lead
mine In 1932 five of six miners working on a ventilation fan at Mawstone Mine
were killed after an explosion filled the gallery with carbon monoxide. The sixth
miner was able to reach the surface and raise the alarm. A rescue party of two
workers and the mine manager descended into the mine, but were themselves
killed by the fumes.
