Upper Burbage

We went back up via the A6 to Upper Burbage and we were 2nd in the free car park. We left Belper in Robs car and it was 14 degrees but quite nice. By the time we got out of the car at Burbage the wind was howling and the wind chill it felt like winter had arrived. We got ready and walked along the footpath on top of the edge, once again beautiful views despite the rubbish light.
We intended to walk down to the position that we got to last week when we went from the bottom of Burbage. The light was flat and we needed some light to make the heather look good. Vast extensive area's of heather and it looked great. Lovely views over to Carl Wark and Higger Tor and we went down to the newt pond which was being used by the cattle. After breakfast we got back onto the track and eventually back to the car.

Despite the rubbish weather and light it was a good little walk with extensive views over the Burbage valley. On top of the edge the wind was ferocious and nearly had me over a couple of times. We had to get our waterproof trousers on and Ike somehow managed to get his on back to front.
