Youlgrave and Meadow Place Grange.

A trip up towards Youlgrave this week with a later start of 06:30 so a bit of a lie in. We parked in the car park on the outskirts of Youlgrave and walked down through the village then up through Meadow Place Grange. This is a really old farm with loads of character. From the farm we stopped at the dry river Lathkill where we had our breakfast. From there it was up to Over  Haddon and Conksbury Bridge then road work back to the car.

This weeks route. Youlgrave to Over Haddon and back.

This was another lovely walk with a couple of small hills, stumbling across Meadow Place Grange was a bonus, what a brilliant old farm complex.
It was different seeing the river Lathkill fro a high position when coming out of Over Haddon. As usual for this time of the year the river at Carters Mill was dry.
See you next week

Dornoch, Durness and Ullapool. Scotland Sept 2014

Not my usual Out and About Blog, this is from a 5 day trip to Scotland, normal service will resume as soon as possible.

A few pics from our 5 day coach trip to the north of Scotland. Fantastic weather, brilliant hotel and food with some wonderful day trips. The only negative for this holiday was the long journey, plenty of stops en route and it was all worth it in the end.
The pics show :- Inverness, Dornoch, Durness and Ullapool with stopping points in between on the trips.

This was a Shearings coach trip  to the very north of Scotland, a long journey but well worth it.
